Courts are heavily reliant these days on the role of mediation in not only clearing the back log but in
reducing legal costs to the community .Most civil matters settle before trial and a substantial
number of which are resolved with the assistance of skilled mediators. A mediated result is one
which the parties agree themselves as facilitated by a mediator.
Mediation provides a safe and impartial environment for parties in dispute to speak openly to each
other in a controlled, respectful way. The mediator’s role, inter alia is to explore what the parties’
interests are, to identify the options for settlement and the consequences of not settling.
I am available as a mediator with a special interest in the mediation of disputes concerning
employment contracts, industrial relations, workplace culture, veterans’ affairs, common law
personal injury and medical negligence and strata corporations.
Mediations are a big aspect of work conducted at State Chambers at level 36, 52 Martin Place,
Sydney. These chambers can provide a venue for such mediations . If you would like me to mediate
your dispute please contact my clerk Ms Kirrillee Gardiner on (02) 92231522 for my availability and
rates.
